Seven
After all of Bush's warnings of apocalypse-like gloom and doom that would be brought on if Dems take over I really have to wonder. Because, really, would that happen? Or maybe it's just the realization he could no longer be king of the hill if there were some sort of sway in the (im)balance of power.
With all these faith based ballot issues I thought long and hard about Mr. Bush and his religion. For a man that promotes his Christian faith as being a number one priority I am slightly bothered by his absolute lack of wisdom. Could he be that blind, as well as those around him, to the way he presents himself? This led me to think of sins because that topic is of incredible importance for Christians. They do not want to be sinners. And whose heard of the 7 Deadly sins? My friend Chaucer has:
"Now is it bihovely thyng to telle whiche been the sevene deedly synnes, this is to seyn, chiefaynes of synnes. Alle they renne in o lees, but in diverse manneres. Now been they cleped chieftaynes, for as muche as they been chief and spryng of alle othere synnes."
1. Pride - he has enough for all of US, heard what other nations think of him?
2. Envy- of Dem power or power in general. As well as success.
3. Gluttony - remember that oil thing? Seen his cars?
4. Lust - we can expand this to the body of government.
5. Wrath - anyone seen his reaction to the election results?
6. Greed - this is a favorite priority. Money motivates this family.
7. Sloth - is promoting war similar to avoiding spiritual work?
All seven. Wow. That's umm, kinda freaky. Then again most politicians do fail these 7.
