Pickin' some peaches

This afternoon I spent the hottest part of the day doing something enjoyable: Picking Peaches. My friend and daughters made for excellent company. We visited the same farm where we picked the blueberries and cherries. There is something incredibly peaceful about its location within the rolling mountainous hills. While we worked our way through the orchard the countryside breezes kept us manageably cool. Those careful moments within the branches offered the girls playful fun of hide and seek in the trees. Loaded down with our prize pecks we were very glad to be on our way if only to cool our brows from the hot sun. As our eyes scanned the beautiful farm we talked about the next visit we'll make come fall. For those apples. Those hills will be a wonderful fall time playground. Until then I am putting up most of the booty and a good cobbler sounds right nice.
