Nifty Ideas: Back to School
Another round of fantastic nifty ideas I have discovered. You too may become inspired by these nifty things and in turn create your own. If you have any of your own nifty ideas please share them with me I'd love to learn about what is nifty to you!
Back to school time is here and there are always lists of things to do and get. This year the girls needed new backpacks and lunch bags. We searched all over for the best backpack for them and we like the L.L. Bean Critter packs. They fit the girls well and have loads of pockets and places for them to stash all their things. Their products are very durable so I'd expect these to last a few years.
As for lunch bags. There are all kinds of bags to choose from depending on your needs. We still have perfectly usable lunch bags from 2 years ago that they will continue to use. Recently we visited the National Zoo and ate lunch there. Their lunch was served in a reusable lunch sack (similar to this style) which is excellent. These zoo bags are smaller and were just what I was looking for as an alternative to the larger more insulated lunch bags we currently use.
I like the To-Go Ware set. These are not suitable for my girls just yet. I'd like for them to be a little older and better able to keep things from clanging around at school.
I have been looking for alternatives to using plastic bags for sandwiches and so far there are two I like. The LunchSkins look very nice they close up easily and the food is packed well within. They can be put in the dishwasher too. Although the WrapnMat is more in line for my children. The option of opening up to become a placemat/plate is very practical. These can be used on picnics and would be very helpful on long car trips. For us we're likely to use the Lunchskins for chips and such and the WrapnMat for sandwiches. Together they make a great pair for reducing lunchtime waste.
We use Nalgene bottles to pack juice or water and I love the Snapware line for packing fruit, pudding, or other liquid based foods. They are easy for the girls to open and close and come in all sizes.
