Pendulum Shawl
This project has been one of many that I occasionally work on and don't devote the time to it that it deserves. I'm just about half way through the project. I haven't been working on it much for a few reasons. One it's getting to be too large to take along with me and two I'm working on more baby gifts. I cast on for this Pendulum Shawl on May 19, 2016. I took it along with me on our cross country trip over the summer. I managed to get quite a bit done sitting in the car as we drove from DC to Colorado but once we returned home the shawl was set aside. This is going to be the first large project made for me. I feel weird about that, maybe why I subconsciously avoid working on it? Hmmm.....I think it must be so. I hardly knit for myself and I don't know why. I should be making myself loads of things to wear. I'll be glad to have something of my own to enjoy. That's why I picked out the decadent yarn. The yarn is made by Prism and is a cashmere silk blend. I enjoy working with the yarn it has such a smooth texture. I had been looking for an easy but interesting shawl to knit. I wanted enough mental work to keep me busy but not have to count 100s of stitches to keep me on edge the whole time. The short rows keep this garter stitch project from being too boring. The striping colors make it so striking! I'm at the point in this project where taking a picture of it is not as easy as I think it will be. As it grows the stripes begin to be more tricky to capture in a photograph. I think the next picture will be taken when the shawl is complete. I've given myself a knitter's deadline of September 30, 2017. Just in time to have it ready to wear for the fall chill. Now if only I can and will stick to my knitter's promise.
